Silent Pursuit Lures

ABOUT ANDREW

I was fortunate enough to be raised by a Great Fisherman my dad Don Larsen.  I became proficient at rigging herring whole, then moved to dialing in cut plugging herring as the boat’s full time designated bait changer from a young age.

I worked at a tackle shop before heading out to OSU.  After 2 years of that, I was drawn back to the water. First working as a beach hand at a Lodge on the Cook Inlet, to learn that fishery.  I spent the next 2 years getting a boat, experience, and sea time.

I worked for a halibut/salmon charter outfit in the early 2000s called Silver Fox Charters. I ran a nice 32ft Glass Ply with twin Volvos. I loved the salt water, but the Kenai River and its large salmon pulled me into freshwater salmon fishing. I fished the Kenai for 11 seasons. Fishing Oregon in the Spring and Fall, wintering in Key West as a mate on a couple different charter boats. Too much fun.

I quit guiding/fishing for money in 2014. I remember stopping to try and learn clients names, I did not fish for fun anymore. I realized I’d turned my favorite passion into a monetary obligation of time and seasons and gambles.

Now I fish for fun…

Silent Pursuit Lures

A long culmination of trial and error led to these lures being what they are.

Lure BOB, I wanted to make salmon eggs wiggle as I thought it would not only be attractive to Kings, but also set me apart from everyone else. I created a Slide Plug. BOB is a plug that is ment to slide down your line and give what ever is behind it action along with the plugs natural attraction. With the ability to wiggle eggs and hoochies, I turned my attention to making salmon eggs spin. I had to do it anyway possible.

The WACKO was the result of this task. I was happy to find that not only does it spin hoochies and salmon eggs, the lure itself fished alone does very well.
